please do not do that “I’m providing no/purposefully bad alt text to epicly own scrapers” shit . doing so instead harms who genuinely needs it 1000x more than the supposed ai scrapers you’re fighting against

@ezio @nay are you running out of memory? I find that firefox (or rather icecat, which is just rebranded firefox esr) will just keep eating memory until my system becomes unusably slow and freezes because I don't have any swap and I have to manually invoke the oom killer with sysrq f (I should probably set up swap, there's an extra 32GB SSD in my laptop that I'm not using for anything, but I stopped using swap on my previous laptop because it would start swapping unnecessarily and that would make the system really slow)

@zleap @mavica_again It's not a waste of time, it prevents ISPs from doing malicious things like injecting ads or blocking certain pages

@mcc @kitten_tech I know that sqlite has the weird religious code of ethics and also does not accept external contributions. Does the code of ethics apply to fossil too and does fossil even accept external contributions?

@mcc @r @klara usually, but for larger changes they use pull requests over email. see man git-request-pull

@nay @Reiddragon The code could be sent over email, most people use that.

(Also, akkoma renders that post horribly, with the entire thing in one blockquote except "thanks for the feedback!" at the end. I think it's using the source misskey markdown and wants there to be an extra newline after every quote.)

@mallory Is it up to the owners of buildings or would it be legally required to ban trans people from single-sex spaces? If the latter (which I think it is), then it seems that buildings without gender-neutral toilets would be required to install them.

@mallory @cwebber The Supreme Court judgement changed the definition of the protected characteristic of sex, but didn't modify the protected characteristic of gender reassignment, which still exists. It means that if you ban trans people from single-sex spaces, you still have to provide a space for them otherwise you'll be discriminating against people with the protected characteristic of gender reassignment, which effectively means that gender neutral toilets are required.

@cwebber That sounds like gender-neutral toilets are going to be required, since gender reassignment is still a protected characteristic and the European Convention on Human Rights still applies.

(Also, could you please post the original unarchived link? I'm getting blocked by cloudflare so I can't actually read that article.)
