it's almost 6am. if it takes me as long to get to sleep as it has done recently, I won't be asleep before 7 or even 8am

@eloy the "lead figures" part is particularly funny. were the monarch and prime minister really directly involved?

@andrewblasco @pixelfed @vernissage

I recommend another servers (Luzeed, Fotolibre, for example).

Do these support migration? I thought the problem was that Pixelfed simply doesn’t support migration, not that pixelfed.social in particular has it disabled

@artemis @whitequark most of the flights I have been on have been relatively short distance (within europe) and with low-cost airlines. neither ryanair (probably the airline I have flown with the most), easyjet, wizzair, or norwegian have business class (both from memory and as far as I can find online). I have been on a transatlantic flight twice (once in each direction), with primera air (a low-cost airline that collapsed a few weeks later). I don't remember if that had business class, although from what I can find online it did

@artemis @whitequark

nobody does that. and nobody will do that because they’d lose a bunch of money.

untrue, budget airlines do that. I’m not sure if I have ever even been in a plane that had business class (maybe once or twice many years ago, but the majority of flights I have been on only had economy)

@mcc I'm not sure. The other way round (mastodon-fe on akkoma) is in theory possible but unmaintained and quite broken, and I know people have got akkoma-fe working with iceshrimp, but I'm not aware of anyone having done that for mastodon.

There's also nicolium, which definitely does work with mastodon and has a deck interface, but at least in the latest release (I don't know if it's different in the development version) the compose window is still a modal (although in the normal (non-deck) interface it is possible to put it in the sidebar)

@mcc @whitequark not every frontend except mastodon: both akkoma-fe and pleroma-fe still have a compose window in the sidebar

@maddy I wish there were more alternatives, but I won't even consider anything that requires any interaction with a remote service that could go down at any moment (or running proprietary software on my computer, or agreeing to any kind of EULA/terms of service) in order to unlock my bootloader, and google pixels are one of the few models of phone that doesn't require that

@kemona_halftau @gen maybe eastern european or somewhere in asia, but there's still a big difference with australia (ignoring DST, europe is +0 (WET) to +3 (MSK), while mainland australia is +8 (AWST) to +10 (AEST))

(edit: I initially confused WEST/WET and EEST/EET, and then I thought EET was +3, because I know belarus is and I expected it to be on EET, but for some reason it's actually on MSK (moscow time). Still, belarus and that part of russia is in europe so +3 is still the most easterly non-DST european timezone.)

@kemona_halftau @gen same. I don't think I have attended an entire school day since early 2020 (maybe only once or twice when I woke up unusually early) (before then I had a relatively normal sleep schedule, now it is american (I am in europe))
