@catsalad @neil you can use it as a proxy and use LD_PRELOAD hacks like torsocks/proxychains4 to force dynamically-linked programs using libc socket functions to use it, but not really as a VPN because it's TCP-only (and some stuff might leak through if you're not careful)

@TheyCallMeHacked @neil possibly, but that's not quite the same as actually including LLM-generated code. it's more like using proprietary software for development (e.g. being hosted on github) compared to actually including proprietary software: they're both problems but not really the same

@neil even if they're allowed, I think "contains LLM-generated code" should definitely at least be listed as an antifeature

@alice technically anything could happen since signed integer overflow is undefined behaviour (in C)

including but not limited to nasal demons and eggs laying eggs (even in the past because UB is allowed to time travel)

@thing if you have firmware installed and it’s not rfkill and there’s nothing in dmesg then I have no idea. does it show up in iw list? maybe that has something relevant

@thing on my thinkpad x200 sometimes wifi would stop working because I accidentally changed the position of the physical wifi disable switch

@thing have you checked that wifi isn't disabled with rfkill? that's the only other thing I can think of

@kemona_halftau I woke up at around 6:30 for some reason (even though the temperature was still 29°C) and it was a bit hard to get back to sleep but I did manage eventually (and it gave me the opportunity to close the windows and install the foil-towels)

@thing is there anything relevant in dmesg? it sounds like you might be missing firmware

github doesn't support ipv6, but judging by their uptime they're at least doing their best to also not support ipv4

actually not exactly at 00:00 UTC, because apparently that’s at the start of the final pip, but a few milliseconds earlier than usual

rip radio 4 longwave

I recorded the last few minutes listening via an online SDR. it’s interesting that the final beep of the the pips is shorter than usual - it seems they did indeed stop broadcasting at exactly 00:00 UTC

I want to listen to the final broadcast but I don't have a radio capable of tuning to 198kHz, so I'll use one of those online SDR receivers (and hopefully it works)
