this was the article btw: https://dmitry.gr/?r=06.%20Thoughts&proj=12.%20RV

it convinced me that risc-v is insane. I would be interested in how it compares with Power ISA (the other open ISA that isn't completely dead)

@kemona_halftau weird that it never happened to me, I'm using real sdl2, not sdl2-compat

@ariadne @deutrino I would prefer it just rendered the quote post regardless like literally every other quote post implementation

@ElliesSurviving I think this was the first national alert (excluding tests). I received it twice for some reason and turned them off after the second. I think software should add support for having them delivered just as an ordinary notification as well as regex filtering for alerts.

I don't understand how anyone can think it's government propaganda unless they have never actually received an alert themselves or even did any research whatsoever into it (there's a list of past alerts on the government website and every single alert has either been about either about weather, flooding, a test, or a bomb (in one case))

@algernon please don't use FHH for parts of iocaine. I'm unsure if the tangled out form counts as source code. I use the GPL's definition of source code, which is the preferred form for making modifications, and for literate programs that includes the text (even for non-literate programs, it would include comments)

@lily @doskel you could probably load EDK2 or u-boot that way too, I just haven't tried

@lily @doskel kexec supports multiboot, I managed to load seabios that way (in a VM, I haven't tested that on real hardware yet)

@doskel I prefer coreboot loading linux directly. no need for a second implementation of all the drivers just for the boot firmware when you can just use linux/kexec as a bootloader

@ElliesSurviving

conspiracy theorists who think the government is controlling them

controlling them… through emergency alerts? what? is that a real conspiracy theory?
