@seabass @bearmine it's both, and the technical issues are in some cases caused by systemd developers insisting on being wrong about things (e.g. lennart insisting that usernames beginning with digits aren't allowed based on one distro (fedora)'s rules for adduser (despite useradd and POSIX both allowing them), and for years refusing to support musl because glibc is the standard ABI for Linux (it's not, the Linux syscall ABI is, glibc is the standard for GNU/Linux))
it is highly opinionated software and some of the opinions are wrong
