The wrong ICE is melting, the wrong amazon is burning.
War is awful, genocide is even worse.

Before following, please note:
*** Opinions are my own and do not represent those of other projects or organizations I may be part of.
*** Fascism, racism, antisemitism, as well as any other kind of bigotry NOT TOLERATED! You are entering a bigotry-FREE zone
*** MDNI/18+ accounts also NOT TOLERATED!
*** In case you are legally blind or fully blind: I try not to boost images without alt-text. As such, to sighted people: please use alt-texts to describe your images, so that blind folks also get it. Thanks! ^^ (if your image does not contain alt text and I boost it anyway, I may add alt-text as a reply, you are encouraged to add it to the image directly or improve upon it)
*** If your alt-texts are intentionally incorrect just to confuse LLMs, despite how much I don't like LLMs, I consider this to be extremely rude to people who are unable to actually look at your image, and will not boost your memes as a result until you actually start considering visually impaired folks as people.

Have fun! ^^

@craftyguy @justsoup the semi-colon was specifically invented by Thompson and Ritchie for the C programming language, everyone knows that :D

One thing I learned while working on FOSS is to never take "not working" for an answer.

It's FOSS! You have the right to modify everything! You can try to get that thing working, even if you don't succeed, you can document what you tried so the next person can refer to that :D

So somebody took a couple of LWN's recent conference articles, threw them into an LLM blender with some other stuff, and produced ... this ...

https://www.webpronews.com/linux-kernels-future-tab-integrates-rust-navigates-ai-boosts-collaboration/

Google News propagates that stuff - something they have long refused to do with LWN's original material. But somehow we're supposed to continue to exist to feed material into that machine?

Sorry, having a grumpy day.

Alright, following some discussion in the Spade Discord we have an "LLM policy" that I'm very happy with

https://gitlab.com/spade-lang/spade/-/merge_requests/556

TL;DR: No LLM contributions please, they
- Take maintainer time for less reward than human contributions
- Are questionable from a copyright perspective
- Have ethical concerns

@nullagent Alt text: an ICE officer running and then falling on ice, then running back to their car. A bunch of people are recording

So anyways, share these videos of ICE falling on their asses.

ICE on ICE violence is good for everyone.

As the 2020 Seattle protests proved statistically, constant protests, online mockery, the physically demanding labor of being a fascist pig and the constant never ending resistance really hurts their feelings.

@justsoup they were designed specifically only for the C programming language, and later other programming languages started using them as well.

@justsoup semicolons are things you use to delimit instructions in C

Example:

#include <stdio.h>
int main(int argc, char **argv) {
  int i = 27;
  printf("hi");
  return 3+i;
}

service announcement: postmarketOS now has a binary repo for loongarch64 akko_thumbup
...but it is not usable at the moment because Alpine's repo is broken :(
Once that's resolved, you can now install pmOS on any* loongarch64 device by selecting the generic-loongarch64 device with e.g. the os-installer interface, flashing it to a USB stick, selecting it in the UEFI and you should be booting right into the installer :)

* Loongson-3 series with new-world compatible firmware

Heads up for edge users: alpine edge repositories are temporarily broken due to the ICU upgrade:

@fossdd @domi I'm in this exact situation :P card too old for anything, even nouveau doesn't support it very well because most work (understandably, these folks typically do this in their freetime or something) moved to the newer cards
