5,000 Jolla Phones pre-ordered in one week, driven by the community.
People showed there’s real demand for a European Linux phone built differently. The Jolla Phone reached 5,000 pre-orders organically, through community sharing and word of mouth. Thank you. We couldn’t have done this without you.
Next stop: 10,000 pre-orders to unlock The Other Half and open source the modular hardware & software interfaces.

@jolla I appreciate the effort but please open source all components of your OS, otherwise I cannot in good concience recommend you and won’t consider buying my next phone from you
@elly @jolla I do not know about congestion but I do know that bluetooth for me is totally unreliable. The small devices have batteries and tiny buttons and are a total pain to charge, get lost and so on. Wired connections is what I use for headphones for that reason and bought my last phone because it has a jack. That said many jack sockets on my devices have broken off jacks in them and there is no way of getting the broken off jack out. Then bluetooth to the rescue....
@domi @elly @jolla why it's Pain In The Ass and where does it stick out?
You mostly need it to connect headphones to telephone so the adapter would be connected to headphones like 99,99999% of the time. You can get one more flexible/bended…
physical aspect wise IMHO it doesn't matter that much.
I do wonder about possible sound quality implications though…
@fun @domi @elly @jolla So maybe next time pay more attention to what you are buying? ;)
and the cost of the adapter ruined you? (hint: you won't have to buy it with every new phone!)
Also: how long do you have it? do you imagine actually loosing it? would probabily of loosing the adapter be on par with loosing the headphonese as well? ;)
