@kemona_halftau I don't see why that's a bad thing, middle click paste is a good feature and I want to use it more

@solonovamax it's just not encoded into the type system (a string char* is the same type as a non-string char*) but C (or at least libc) definitely does have the concept of a string

@solonovamax char array != string, but (C) strings are a subset of char arrays (specifically null-terminated char arrays). confusingly, the C standard library also has some functions that operate on null-padded character sequences (stncpy, stpncpy, strncat, strndup) which are char arrays but are not strings, despite those functions being named as if they operate on strings

@solonovamax IVAN uses its own string type for some reason (in C++). Also, a null-terminated char array is a string, otherwise C doesn’t have strings.

@6 @rebane2001 it's just a shitty bluesky PDS with mandatory id verification that they somehow convinced (bribed?) a load of EU politicians into using and promoting. I don't see why anyone would willingly use this when they could use literally any other PDS

@kemona_halftau @thing it is bootstrappable (guix does it starting from mrustc) and you have to compile each version incrementally just to update (not like .net, in which there is no full source bootstrap path at all)
