I was looking at your GNU Guix channel, especially how you frame packages that are fully free software but not always ready to be upstreamed.

I’m curious how are you dealing with context loss from compaction?

@mrmasterkeyboard I think you are overestimating the amount of central control GNU has over invididual packages. For example, there are several GNU packages hosted on GitLab.com and GitHub (specifically GNU Mailman and GNU Radio, maybe more), both of which require proprietary JavaScript to use and are officially considered by GNU to be unacceptable for hosting GNU packages.

@kemona_halftau weird. that website is terribly designed and it makes me think the software probably isn't very good either. there's also an obnoxious animation around a thing at the bottom of the page that's always visible even when you scroll advertising eagle, it requires javascript to view at all for no good reason whatsoever, and all the unnecessary and annoying animations make even moving my cursor slow

@link what is the problem with TLA? (it's another one of those instances that I have heard vaguely bad things about, but nobody says specifically what's wrong with it)
