Can't wait to see Elon and the Trump administration's calm reaction to this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g9kejzvw0o

Hello world! We are Modal, a new collective born out of the local Berlin community around Linux infrastructure. We're involved in projects like GNOME, postmarketOS, p2panda, and systemd.

We organize the events, and work upstream on a number of difficult problems in emancipatory computing, including local-first networking, mainline Linux on phones, and platform security.

Our long-term goal: A free software platform that's competitive with the iPhone 🌈

excited to finally announce to the world what we've been planning in Berlin these last few months. I hope the core tenets of Modal is something that many people can get behind :3

Really interesting thing happening with the React vuln where lots of the cyber companies reporting exploitation don't appear to realise they're reporting on exploit attempts for GitHub PoCs which aren't actually real - said PoCs just set up a vuln webapp in a way nobody would in real world.

It's not all the attempts but it's a large portion.

Hey! I’m CEO of a company that has just raised $10 billion for an app that takes the hard work out of enjoying music. Did you know, some people waste hours each day listening to β€œtunes”. Our AI will listen to it for you and summarise it in a 15 second scream leaving you more time to focus on what's really important in life: adding value.

We love hardware donations at and of course we make sure no old asset tags or configuration is left behind before we add it to the equipment pool. Thanks for the donation <3

Our hardware and software is the most modern one we have ever seen!
Since this is all new to us, we regularly receive training courses to keep our mind fresh!

Sincerely,

The office

really, really impressed with posty: a mastodon archive -> html static site generator

it ingests your mastodon archive (post history) as a zip, and barfs out an entire static html site with indices and tags. all servable with any standard web server.

this is super helpful because when i shut down the dialup.cafe instance, there was no easy way to get access to my old posts and images.

it can either be run online here:
https://posty.1sland.social

or instructions here for running it locally:

@ariadne I never liked iOS's modern UI (from ~8+) and still hate any kind of 1:1 copy in the android world, they're just worse (looking at Xiaomi, OPPO, ..., now even google/AOSP is getting to it)
