Tomorrow, I will remove the "Login with GitHub" option from my forge.

Well, that tomorrow became a week or so later, but here we are: my forge no longer has a "Sign in with GitHub" button.

There is only "Sign in with Codeberg" and local accounts (but registration is closed, so... Codeberg).

@algernon Up with the poor man’s federation (until we have real federation, at least)!

@algernon ...signing in with codeberg comes with a warning on codeberg saying "it will be able to access and write to all your account information, including private repos and organizations"

...but the scopes are openid

i'm confused 🫠

(i'm emergency migrating my sign in method, the password method seems to 500 for some reason)

@jacksonchen666 IIRC that's a shortcoming somewhere in Forgejo. I will, at some point, make an attempt at figuring out why that happens, and try to fix it.

I can temporarily re-enable the GitHub login if that helps you switch to Codeberg login. (Edit: I just did, will disable it again next time I remember! :P)

@algernon "sign in with codeberg" is pretty helpful, I didn't know it was a thing until I wanted to open an issue on iocaine

@algernon last time I checked forgejo as an oauth2 provider doesn't support scopes so it's not possible to sign in to a service with codeberg without giving it full access to your account, so I won't sign in to any third party services with codeberg

could you add the option to log in with framagit.org instead?

@noisytoot @algernon I think that was improved in the latest version that came out two weeks ago or so.
