Maddy - Floofy fops friend neofox_floof_happy

[me confidently walking into the women’s clothing section to look for pants, expecting the sizing to be similar to what I’m used to - How could they not also use something logical like waist and leg length?]

“…what the FUCK is an 18 M?”

I’ve picked up leggings and such before, figuring out I’m about an XXL (US/CAN), but this was my first time finding a similar replacement for my fucked up old pair of jeans.

@maddy logic really isn't anywhere in the picture when it comes women's clothing sizing

@maddy I had to measure my waist, legs, and crotch distance with a tape measure and take the measurements and measure with me to the store.

@kiki Yeah, I have a feeling I’m gonna have to start doing occasional measurements before I go clothes shopping.

Definitely for new bras.

@kiki Thanks for the reminder! I’ve had that one bookmarked, but have yet to use it. neofox_googly_woozy

@maddy The nice part is that it gives you a list of sizes that’ll work for your bust size. It’s even more convoluted than pant/shirt sizes.

@noisytoot That would be wayyyy bigger than the pants I was looking at with that size neofox_laugh

@maddy Yeah I was so floored when I started buying men's pants and discovered many are sized by waist and leg measurements. I was very much like WTF why don't women's pants get sized this way???

I bought some women's pants not long ago and I went through one site and followed their sizing guide and got all my pants the same size, supposedly, and some are too big for my waist and one is too small, a couple fit my waist just fine but are way too long in the legs, it makes zero fucking sense. 🫠

Even the men's clothes that do come in S/M/L/XL seem a bit more consistent than women's clothing sizes. A few different sites/stores now I've been able to buy XL shirts and they all fit me fine.

@Bel_tamtu Fucking real. The S/M/L/XL sizing in men’s has been exponentially more consistent than my experience just in the last year of shopping in the women’s section.

@maddy I was so pissed when I found out men’s sizing. I was like “what do you mean they don’t have to sort through a million different brands’ definition of a fuckin large???”

@N Yeah, the valley of difference between is super bullshit. It’s like Whose Line Is It Anyway? where everything’s made up and the points don’t matter.
