As we have gotten a number of inquiries due to confusions about this: Following our annual member assembly, we have indeed sent out emails for voting on its proposals. But only to those who have an active e. V. membership. If you are a ‘supporting’ member of Codeberg e. V., you do not have active voting rights.

@Codeberg As a supporting member, I have 3 comments:
1. When I signed up, I wasn't fully aware about this distinction. I was under the impression that "active" meant getting actively involved in everyday activity of the e.V.
2. I looked through my account, but didn't find any indicator as to what kind of member I am.
3. I've read that a supporting membership can be changed to an active one, but no clear information about how to do so.

riley@toot.cat@stefanie Write to the office. These are corporate governance matters, with relatively simple legally technical solutions (except that you might have missed a legally mandated cut-off deadline for voting during this period).
(Fun history tidbit: corporate voting procedure rulesets are older than most parliaments, and dividing voters into categories and denying "mere" workers votes were built into the rules from very early on. Even nowadays, some people ridiculously make noise about the British East India Company being "democratic" because its stockholders voted on the board and the board's proposals. Its victims never got to vote on them, obviously.)
