@neil Debian 12 to 13 upgrades, discourse upgrades, and setting up anubis. Which, yes, is fun for me.
@neil I'm about to break some boards with my fists/feet then fight with 2 people at once and try to survive.
You?
@neil Very tempted to spend my weekend installing Hyprland on my PC... I used to use a tiling window manager, bspwm, which I found really useful. When I switched to Wayland I had to leave that behind, but I still find myself reaching for the hotkeys I'd set up to switch between workspaces or split windows and so on.
That said, this project would definitely fail XKCD 1205...
@neil Replace an inner tube.
And, because it's that time of year again, deliver some leaflets.
@neil about to head to an Artemis splashdown watch party, and then I get to autocross tomorrow.
Gonna be a good weekend!
@neil trying to figure out how to share the list of recognised faces in immich with partner accounts.. it is one of a few outstanding feature requests for 3+ years now!
and probably car boot on Sunday 🙂
@neil Service bicycle, clean garage. Work Sunday.
Might go see Project Hail Mary again with Kiddo. That qualifies.
@neil Kids off to their grand parents so I'm off on a bike ride and a bit of OpenStreetMap mapping. Also crazy cheap er negative electricity prices on Octopus Agile again tomorrow to wondering what I should do to make use of it, but I want to get out cycling/mapping.
@neil strangely enough, I'm going to a trampoline park tomorrow.
Do you have plans?
@seabass @neil are you aware of hyprland’s horrifying plugin system (that also has a 64-byte memory leak that the maintainers consider to be acceptable) and also all the drama relating to the moderation of its community and vaxry being banned from FDO?
No, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for letting me know, @noisytoot
@noisytoot @neil Looking into river and river-classic instead...
* Clean the compost bucket.
* Do laundry.
* Wedge network firewall between ISP's router and home network.
* Get all the sticky from the raspberry syrup cleaned up.
@neil
Apart from the usual (wine, curry, vodka, cunnilingus) I need to get and install a new battery in my Mini (not a euphemism). I mean, how hard can it be, right?
A bit of gardening.
Probably seeing her family on Sunday.
Oh, and writing some filth that will offend public decency.
Hopefully.
Jx
@neil
Got 800kg of decorative gravel to move from the large bag dumped in front of the house to the hole in the back garden we spent digging last weekend, so that should be fun.
@neil eating, drinking and generally chilling out with a very, very old friend. Which is kinda the perfect weekend in my book.
@neil
This weekend is the 50th hogeye marathon in Springdale, Ar. I am signed up to be a bike marshal. Tomorrow could end up being my first 100 mile day on a bike.
@neil I'm going to find and shoot some birds (with a camera).
@neil Not what I would associate with fun primarily, but I do have pleasant things planned: Going to a flea market, possibly visiting my grandma and doing some chores. I do expect that to be fun, but not the most exciting adventures or parties or whatever, what people usually tell me are their fun weekend activities!
@noisytoot @neil Well I installed river-classic, and it didn't take anywhere as long as a weekend either! However, it seems that nobody has written a bspwm-style window manager yet - there are binary split window managers already, but none of them appear to support the various insertion modes; the 'automatic longest-side scheme' was my favourite feature of bspwm as it made it very intuitive to create splits underneath the cursor.
@neil should be fun.
It's going to be noisy and it's indoors. But it's a beautiful day, and we're coastal, so maybe it won't be too full.
Looking forward to bouncing. I like my mini trampoline, but you can't really get that gorgeous free fall height on it ;)
@neil you too! Hope the leak is an easy fix, and your radios arrive :)
@noisytoot @neil I didn't get anywhere with river, but I did try Sway... and while it's not exactly like bspwm was, with a script called autotiling it works in quite a similar way! All in all, I think I'm rather happy with it :)
@neil Un-mothballing, setting up, and tuning a drum kit. Got a gig next week with @HollowDawn 😁
