Fun fact: I recognize the data center he toured. I have passed by that building many, many, many times. Same goes for pretty much all of the other data centers in Ashburn.

In Ashburn, there are far too many data centers that are close (sometimes even directly next to!) residential areas.

The amount of data centers there is becoming a serious problem. It is affecting the lives of real people.

Touring a data center and going "hey look cool data center!" is genuinely insulting.

I have seen construction sites installing fiber optic cables in the Loudoun County area many times. The ones he included in the thumbnail aren't even remotely of the right size.

@noisytoot Also, it's not just Ashburn anymore. Most notably, Sterling and Leesburg now have massive data center construction projects.

In Leesburg, there is now a data center construction project right next to a Walmart. That's how bad it's getting.
