@fun nope, silly proprietary software, because it was the only thing that tries to find orphaned filesystem trees when there's no superblocks
and due to an encrypted filesystem, photorec would not do much here either

@ptrc pretty sure photorec supports encrypted FS?

@fun i don't think so..? how would it look for file headers otherwise?

@ptrc hmm as far as I can tell they tell you to unlock the drive first before running photorec..

@fun that would work for device mapper-based encryption layers, like LUKS, but not when it's a FUSE-based encryption "filesystem" on top of a regular one
