Why is the BDI-II like this? There's no intermediate option (it goes straight from "I do not feel sad." to "I feel sad much of the time."), and the 4th option is not really about the same thing (it's about how sad you are rather than how often you are sad), or even mutually exclusive with the others (except the first), yet you can only pick one option.
