last time i used btrfs, i lost tons of data lowk coz im stupid as fuck, and was able to recover mostly everything but all my files have been all scattered around since then, so i just been afraid to touch btrfs again since then.

@niko did you use raid5 or how did you manage to lose data with btrfs?

@noisytoot no , no RAID , it's been like 2 years since then so i dont remember the reason but i do know im stupid because i didnt setup ANY snapshots

@niko that reminds me that I should probably setup snapshots. but snapshots only help you if you do something like accidentally rm -rf'ing your files (which could happen on any filesystem), if your disk actually gets corrupted (due to a filesystem bug or hardware issue) it won't help since it's still referencing the same data
