<- it has never watched a movie or show or read a book in its life (that it remembers)
(kemona_halftau)
<- it has only played like 6 video games ever
(kemona_halftau)
in no particular order:
minecraft, terraria (a very old version), portal 1, celeste, oneshot, fez, super mario bros. 3, smw2 yoshi’s island, super mario 64, super mario 3d world (wii u), yoshi’s woolly world, freedom planet, portal 2, tunic, overcooked (at a friend’s house), don’t starve together (also at a friend’s house), and a bunch of random wii u eshop games from 2014 to 2017
(kemona_halftau)
(end of list)
@kemona_halftau honestly same, only watched a couple movies in the past year
@kemona_halftau I should play oneshot,, I have it sitting in my steam library and it's sitting unplayed. should I get the new world machine edition or is the original one fine?
(kemona_halftau)
@fries uhh it depends on a lot of things (e.g. what operating system youre on and some other things that are spoilers)
in general wme has some good quality-of-life changes (e.g. a map for quick-travel instead of a list of places, and better character movement, plus some unlockables) but it just isnt the same as the original oneshot (the exact reasons why are spoilers)
since 2016 oneshot is open source, ive sorta made it my goal to add as many quality-of-life changes to it as possible, including the movement and map changes (and bug-fixes, better localization/translation, controls, puzzle alternative solutions, etc), without taking away from the experience (plus actually making it work for more linux users), but until thats done wme is probably the better option if youre on linux
@kemona_halftau also, could oneshot be ported to the Wii U?
(kemona_halftau)
@fries maybe, if i can either get ruby 2.5 compiled in devkitppc or rewrite everything to use mruby instead (everything else should work, ive seen mkxp games run on the wii u in the past with minimal work other than a little bit of sdl2 stuff)
(kemona_halftau)
@fries idk how the uhhh other things would work on a wii u though (intentionally vague because it’s a pretty huge spoiler)
actually one of the things could work with the gamepad touchscreen or wii remote pointer maybe
idk about the rest of the mechanics though
(kemona_halftau)
@noisytoot technically yeah
@kemona_halftau @noisytoot wait, isn't fedi a game too?
