@JoscelynTransient girls occasionally tell me they like my [item of clothing, accessory, nail polish etc] and i'm pretty sure i am also missing hints

@JoscelynTransient manually doing diffie-hellman key exchange to negotiate a shared symmetric key with which you then encrypt what you want to say (stated directly) /hj

(the "manually doing diffie-hellman key exchange" part is obviously infeasible and is a joke, but I do think directly saying what you mean is the only way to completely ensure you would be understood, although that's not really a secret handshake then. I don't think I would be likely to pick up on any hints that aren't explicitly made clear, for example.)

@JoscelynTransient @noisytoot there is that slight element of "hello fellow tran, i have clocked you" which is not always the best feeling

@miriamrobern @JoscelynTransient @noisytoot

Yeah i have that problem a lot because there are so many trans people in my city. i literally see multiple people i think are probably trans every time i go out walking somewhere, and it's not just me seeing what i want to see: Portland, Maine is just actually a small city with a big trans population.

There's even someone who started work at my company recently and i don't know if she has clued in to me yet or not

@JoscelynTransient if you're not worried about outing yourself, you could always just tell them you're trans yourself

@LunaDragofelis well, it would be weird to go up to a stranger and be like, ā€œI like your hair, I’m trans.ā€ šŸ˜…

That said, I’m considering basically doing that with t-shirts now šŸ˜…
