@domi nevermind, I didn't read the website properly. You can access free content with some restrictions. I thought you had to pay a mandatory $9 for the service, which slightly conflicts the OSS ideology.

Stallman only cares about “liberating” source code, not anything else. News articles are hardly code…

@domi @feeblu it still wouldn't conflict even if it was code. you can sell free software, provided you don't attempt to restrict further distribution. LWN allows for paid subscribers to create subscriberlinks which can be accessed for free by anyone, so (unusually for paywalled sites) LWN does not restrict further distribution of paywalled articles.
