solution was to login as root on a tty and set the clock forward 10 minutes

@kemona_halftau @niko if you use elogind or systemd-logind, you can also use loginctl unlock-session from a tty (use loginctl list-sessions to get the ID, substitute loginctl for systemctl if you use systemd). I used it when I couldn’t log in from the screen locker a while ago (I don’t remember if it was due to this or something else)

@niko what security advantage does having a password timeout even provide
