I'm going to do a Fedi game because I've always wanted to do one.

We're going to be doing a cleaning up of the English alphabet, starting from Z and going to A, maybe adding a few letters while we're at it. We'll be doing one every day.

Therefore, for day one does Z live, or die...

75% I love Zebras! (Keep)
0% To z chopping block... (Remove)
25% I like participating

You know what, I'll also abide by the decisions for the entire length of the game. If a letter is removed, I will not post using that letter anymore.

@justsoup what happens if all the letters get removed?

@justsoup

The Z is a great letter in scrabble, (I think) almost as good as the Q.

@noisytoot The last few days are just repeating characters I guess

@noisytoot I started with Z because I want to hold off on vowels for as long as possible. Removing a vowel immediately would be quite the challenge.

@justsoup doing the "should I remove this letter" poll on the last day with a single letter left would be challenging

Some non-vovvels like VV vvill be quite easy to remove, since vve English vvriters have had suitable substitutes (or vvorkarounds) throughout history.

@dpnash @noisytoot I don't plan on using orthography hacks to write anything. I'll just rewrite the spelling of the word, or just entirely leave parts off if it gets the point across.

And 'Z' remains in the alphabet with a almost 3/4 of voters voting to keep it.

Next down the list is 'Y'! So, vote whether or not 'Y' is allowed to remain.

0% Yep, yearning for it. (Keep)
0% I don't like the Greek 'I'. (Remove)
0% I'll participate again

Well, somehow there was a 50/50 split in the vote, so I'll make the executive decision to remove the letter. Ies, we finalli have a letter removed!

Next up is the letter 'X'.

0% It is hard to make a pun for this letter (Keep)
0% Remove
0% What is happening

@justsoup
I'm finding various puns for its removal (execute, axe, expunge), but none for its keeping.

The letter representing the voiced labial–velar approksimant has been removed! Uae noue have to approksimate uaat uae uaould have used it for...

Aniuaais, uae've reached a point uaere a bit of a break is deserved. Let's do something a bit different. Should '¡' be added to English? (e.g. ¡Hello!)

Note: This uaell also result in the release of "¿ ?". Continue at iour ouen peril.

@justsoup "Aniwais" has a W in it - I'm sorry I missed the last poll, I absolutely would have voted to keep W.

¡Excellent!

¿Having borrowed some Orthography from Spanish, should we borrow some from German, namely: all Nouns must begin with a Capital Letter to avoid violating its Rules of Grammar?
