i want to try out akkoma

akkoma seems very customizable and much more usable than sharkey

@kemona_halftau I wanna try it a bit too but there needs to be themes because the default look kinda hurts my eyes

@CinnamonCatYurilover @kemona_halftau there are also some alternative frontends but the two mastodon ones (masto-fe and fedibird-fe) available in the frontend package manager thing are very outdated and broken and pl-fe nicolium (a soapbox fork) I couldn’t get to work at all

@kemona_halftau It took me some getting used to personally when I tried running it alongside Sharkey on my old server but it’s the most customizable fedi software I’ve seen, no contest. If you’re willing to mess around a bit on the technical side then I’d give it a shot!

@CinnamonCatYurilover @kemona_halftau The akkoma instances I see around customize themselves heavier than any other fedi thing EVER. The look is malleable I have no doubt about that one.

@CinnamonCatYurilover @kemona_halftau isn’t Akkoma made to be used headlessly so you can use any fe you want with it? Or am I thinking of something else
