theres at least 4 THOUSAND posts from this single user in the thread

@kemona_halftau idk maybe message the user and ask if there's some other service that would suit them better? I can't imagine what they would be doing in such a thread but it seems inefficient

@kemona_halftau report the bug and temporarily remote-suspend the user and delete the posts to prevent it from crashing until the bug is fixed?

@kemona_halftau oh that's tough, idk.. blocking them from the instance could upset other users... If it's just that specific thread you could do some hack with your network to drop requests to the thread url and clear it from your instance cache. Not sure how easy that is with sharkey

@rpgwaiter difficult. each post just has a reference to its immediate reply which is not enough information to determine whether it is part of the thread

our instance is very small and that user doesnt seem to have interacted with anyone on our instance, so it shouldnt be too bad to suspend them as long as the suspension reason is descriptive about the problem

I think a thread so big it’s actually causing problems is a fair reason to remote suspend someone, I know I’ve suspended for less before.
