really want to give gotosocial or snac a try

i think im tired of sharkey
its so bloated for no reason and barely works

@kemona_halftau I'd miss emoji reactions on gotosocial (it doesn't support them yet)

@kemona_halftau but emoji reacts are cool. and some day maybe I will implement something cursed like emoji reacting to emoji reacts so conversations can be done entirely in emoji reacts

@kemona_halftau@sharkey.skydevs.me snac is good but not perfect. no database means it sometimes gets slow chugging through all posts or followers. timeline best viewed via app, eg i use subway tooter which works well. web interface pushes posts to top of page every time someone responds, so you never see mosts posts unless viewed via app instead. on openbsd, snac randomly crashes now and then, i wrote a relauncher script, needs this or maybe systemd-based systems would do this automatically? also sends all ur posts to every instance it knows about by default, turn this off, or followers will wait 6 hours to receive ur reply while snac sends ur posts to 15,000 other instances first 'for discoverability' lol
