@seabass usually it's plasmashell that crashes and that's easy to recover from just by restarting it, but this time every graphical program died except somehow konsole

@noisytoot that's bizarre... it's probably too late for this occasion, but isn't it sometimes possible for GUI applications' processes to continue running after the window manager if they weren't started as a fork of the window manager process?

@seabass apparently Qt 6 supports surviving a compositor crash on wayland but GTK doesn't (although gwenview didn't survive either and actually segfaulted)

@noisytoot That happened a few times to me. It would just bring me to the lock screen
