@Kletskous @eloy Android is Linux. What else would you call it? It uses Linux (which is, as you pointed out, a kernel) but it’s certainly not GNU/Linux.

What we need is freedom-respecting operating systems, which doesn’t necessarily mean GNU/Linux (Alpine qualifies but isn’t GNU/Linux)

@Kletskous @eloy The license of the userspace components is completely irrelevant, since the Linux syscall interface is a boundary past which the GPL’s requirements don’t extend, and even if they did, it doesn’t change the fact that Android does use Linux.
