Holy moly! This server has handled Yassieboosts and Sodiboosts with relative ease, but it was brought to its knees for almost a minute after an Aliceboost

@maddy everyone talks about yassieboosts and such but i’ve never had any issues with my instance…
i do wonder if its because i have pretty powerful hardware? although my instance does slow to a crawl if i post a lot of images right after each other
@Chloe I think it’s mainly dependent on WAN uplink bandwidth, I/O, and CPU oomph, as well as the type of post and if media is included.
I had no notable iowait during that spike, but the two Ryzen 7 5800X CPU cores I assigned to this instance were pegged.
If I were still running instances on my Haswell/Broadwell-based servers, it would probably take less to bring things to a crawl.
@maddy the chances of an Alice showing up and boosting your posts are low BUT NEVER ZERO
@foone And here I thought my Zen 3 2-core, 4GB RAM, mirrored NVMe VM for this instance was hot shit.
