@kemona_halftau If it hasn't completely failed and only some small regions are bad, you can use grub's badram option to remove them from the memory map: https://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub/html_node/badram.html

eh, i guess i can live with the one working 16gb stick for now
it just means i cant run some of my virtual machines, and maybe it might be slower since its one channel

i just realized i still have a 16gb so-dimm laptop ram stick im not using
and my roommate has a so-dimm to dimm adapter for some reason
this might just work

@kemona_halftau was going to suggest a so-dimm adapter since used laptop ram is still cheaper. will be curious how well it works
