Did you know there are instances that have a far higher limit than 500 characters?

Think closer to 5000 characters… or more!

@maddy We used to have a hidden limit of 1500 on .art. I miss it so much! ;A;

@maddy I have a limit of 65535. I could set it even higher, but akkoma will reject remote posts longer than 100,000 by default and I'm not sure what limits other implementations have

@maddy We used to have 621 as the limit on our instance, now we have 3621. Honestly, that's still pretty limited compared to some instances out there, but it is a lot more conducive to my rambling commenting style than the original character limit.

@maddy I expected this to be a 5000 character post, or a favorite Pokémon poll.

@maddy I wanted to change the limit to 1000 on mine, but didn't get around to it.
