@q66 this is why i always create a fresh home dir and only copy what i need if i switch desktops

@weirdtreething i'm not switching desktops, i'm perfectly content with gnome

but i need to briefly test new releases when updating them

@q66 it's so annoying

i like using different DEs for differnet purposes (usually sway, but somtimes gnome for schoolwork and kde for ... other types of schoolwork)

and i resroted to using separate users since i don't need to share configs across them

@RunxiYu funnily it only ever gets messed up one way around

@q66 on the other hand, i can see why kde does it, since it makes GNOME apps look roughly like what a KDE/Breeze user would expect
A non-technical GNOME user would have a hard time making Qt apps look sane for them (Fusion isn't really a good-looking theme)

@RunxiYu given how they seem to have no issue with making you click "apply" for everything, this is one thing that would have warranted a simple "do you want to override themes" dialog on first time setup...

@q66 I use chattr +i to prevent KDE Plasma (or anything else) from messing with my GTK settings

@noisytoot i'm usually not even supposed to be the one updating these but eh when it's a new patch ver and simple enough to update i just do it and give it a quick run because it's faster...
