Also @noisytoot@mice.tel in case chinchillas eat the cables
@seabass @bearmine I'm not aware of any heinous acts committed by the maintainers!

It's my favourite of the GPU accelerated terminal emulators because it works with OpenGL ES 2.0 (which the others mostly don't), although I use konsole.

@Chel I assume that anyone who calls themselves an expat is either an XML parser or a former double agent who can't return to their original country for fear of being arrested or assassinated, because that's the context in which I first heard that word being used (referring to Sergei Skripal)

went on another walk with my IR camera from my previous thread. Even managed to catch a few rays of sunlight in between the otherwise grey week.

It continuous to be a lot of fun and I slowly get the hang of focusing correctly! There are some image artifacts and out-of-focus regions at times, but that is okay with this 2011 camera.. :D

The resulting photos also just keep blowing my mind, this is sooo good! Also there are some interesting observations, the concrete in the third photo does not reflect much, if any IR, while the foliage does. This is also something you can feel in the summer, while streets are incredibly hot, trees and grass usually are pretty chill as they do not absorb a lot of IR!

@Kletskous @eloy The license of the userspace components is completely irrelevant, since the Linux syscall interface is a boundary past which the GPL’s requirements don’t extend, and even if they did, it doesn’t change the fact that Android does use Linux.

@Kletskous @eloy Android is Linux. What else would you call it? It uses Linux (which is, as you pointed out, a kernel) but it’s certainly not GNU/Linux.

What we need is freedom-respecting operating systems, which doesn’t necessarily mean GNU/Linux (Alpine qualifies but isn’t GNU/Linux)

@GroupNebula563 @VoicesOfTheVoid I don’t think this is real. I OCR’d all the PDFs and tried to find this with pdfgrep but couldn’t.

@evan there’s always going to be something that isn’t documented (yet)

@evan They serve different purposes. An IRC channel is good for questions that aren't covered by documentation and aren't bug reports.

@mcc I read it as Embedded Controller

@evan What would you rather use instead? A mailing list?

I don't like it when they use discord because I won't be able to join but I like IRC (but I have a bouncer, so staying connected for a long time isn't an issue)

@algernon Why those specific distros? Adélie Linux supports it. It's not Alpine but it uses the same package manager.
