Also @noisytoot@mice.tel in case chinchillas eat the cables
@kemona_halftau interacting with a meow probably also takes much less effort than in interacting with a post that took over an hour to think of

@ariadne is this for TCG or just KVM? Linux sadly already dropped KVM support for 32-bit hosts on ARM in 2020 (and there were some patches on LKML in 2024 removing 32-bit host support for other architectures but I don't think they ever got merged)

@dpk That hasn't been my experience. My mum is into it but my dad isn't.

@shio if they’re replying “not really” to that, are they saying the average grapheneos user isn’t a good grandchild because they wouldn’t do that?

@slatian I published that eBPF program you were interested in: https://codeberg.org/noisytoot/bindrestrict

It's still very incomplete, but it does work. The README describes the state it's currently in.

Today I learned a spell to TOAST A BAGEL. It is supposed to be a spell to REFORGE A RING but it does not check the ring’s MATERIAL, and if you cancel about a second into casting the bagel will NOT be DESTROYED.

@xgranade people don't recognize web addresses??? how??? browsers still have URL bars so I would expect someone who regularly uses a web browser to recognize an HTTP(S) URL

@maddy This might actually be possible. You can extract private keys using that sound: https://cs-people.bu.edu/tromer/papers/acoustic-20131218.pdf

Now I can run stress -c 4 and it doesn’t even reach 90°C and barely throttles (to 3.1GHz due to hitting the PL1 power limit of 47W) instead of reaching 99°C and throttling constantly and the hinge near the fan getting so hot it was painful to touch like it did before. If I undervolt by -75mV it doesn’t throttle at all or go above 85°C.

Replaced it with Arctic MX-7 (previously was Arctic MX-6 from last year I think). This is so much better. The fan isn't even on!

I also managed to properly connect the second antenna to my wifi card (it was previously taped on) so maybe I'll get a better wifi connection too.

I think my laptop might need new thermal paste. It always ran quite hot but it seems to be even hotter lately
