re: mentions github, llms/ai/copilot, generally positive

@kemona_halftau if you want to make sure nobody puts your repos on github, consider using SHA-256 (github still doesn't support SHA-256 repos, but codeberg/forgejo does)

it's not so noticeable in akkoma unless I scroll too fast but in sharkey even moving the mouse is noticeably slow

@chaos @whitequark

if you are going to take a exam or get a degree for something, you are going to be under multiple forms of surveillance at all times even after you get your qualification

what do you mean? what kind of surveillance? are you saying that exam boards (or schools/universities/governments/whoever else requires you to take tests) spy on you forever after you’ve passed an exam?

@lynndotpy @mcc I didn't know this until now and I'm not sure what to do about it

@seabass @neil are you aware of hyprland’s horrifying plugin system (that also has a 64-byte memory leak that the maintainers consider to be acceptable) and also all the drama relating to the moderation of its community and vaxry being banned from FDO?

@eloy @ersatzmaus @TimWardCam I walked past Radboud University Nijmegen once when it was closed. It had automatic sliding doors that were probably supposed to be locked but I could pry them open a bit and they'd automatically open the rest of the way so I could just walk in.

@libreleah huh, I didn't expect it to work on any of the B0-stepping CPUs since Intel ark says they only support 64GB max (while the CPUs only available in other steppings that don't work without hardware modifications all say 128GB)

When RAM prices go down I may try 128GB on OptiPlex 5050 SFF/Supermicro X11SSH-LN4F

(edit: also, all your posts have the language incorrectly set to "de" (which also caused my reply to have the incorrect language set initially))

@tk @ariadne if you can figure out a way to replace it with your own software, the smart TV crap is the interesting part!

With that being said, I will admit there's one LLM I do use, but it is one that does not waste my VALUABLE time.

It's the STANDARD ed...LLMitor!!!!

@maddy I had that working on my Alpine Linux laptop for a few days after installing it before a KDE update broke it and I never figured out why or managed to fix it.

It apparently requires that the KWallet password be the same as your login password and that pam_kwallet5.so gets loaded (but I have that and it still doesn't work, and rebuilding it also didn't help)

@maddy

FOR WHAT? To distract folks from the Epstein files? For some fucking power move? Because he can?! I don’t know.

Oil (but also the other reasons you listed)

Ironically the current Iranian government is indirectly the US and UK’s fault (they overthrew the democratically elected government in 1953 because they wanted oil, which was later itself overthrown in 1979 and replaced with the current theocratic dictatorship)
