*** In case you are legally blind or fully blind: I try not to boost images without alt-text. As such, to sighted people: please use alt-texts to describe your images, so that blind folks also get it. Thanks! ^^ (if your image does not contain alt text and I boost it anyway, I may add alt-text as a reply, you are encouraged to add it to the image directly or improve upon it)
*** If your alt-texts are intentionally incorrect just to confuse LLMs, despite how much I don't like LLMs, I consider this to be extremely rude to people who are unable to actually look at your image, and will not boost your memes as a result until you actually start considering visually impaired folks as people.

Have fun! ^^

Some are suggesting you deliberately write inaccurate or confusing alt text, because they say this confuses AI scrapers that are analyzing images.

The purpose of alt text is to help people who cannot see the image. Deliberately misrepresenting the image is a gross misuse of alt text. Don't do it.

You haven't truly lived the life of a until you're googling around to figure out some issue and find a post about it where someone's asking the exact same question and... it's you. You, asking the exact same question ten years ago. And nobody answers.

the g in gobject stands for glib, and the g in glib stands for gtk, and the g in gtk stands for gimp, however the g in gimp stands for gnu, so really the g in glib stands for gnu, but you shouldn't confuse it with gnulib, which is developed by the gnu project, who shouldn't be confused as the developers of glib, which is the gnome project, in which the g also stands for gnu

Many C programmers know that a function will return -EINVAL if you pass it an invalid argument. But most don't know that if you pass it two invalid arguments, it will instead return -ZWEIVAL.

I finally fixed touchpad in my favorite Chromebook (KOHAKU) and annoying issue with random wakeups while testing upcoming coreboot release (25.12, scheduled for Christmas Eve).

It feels... weird to have fully-functional machine with no quirks. Every other piece of hardware I own has weird quirks requiring workarounds or is straight up broken in one way or another blobcatgoogly2

I've decided to join @pabloyoyoista, @craftyguy and @cas in holding Office Hours for postmarketOS and related topics. You can hop in a call with me for 30 minutes every week on Wednesdays at 4:00pm CET/CEST to chat about various topics and I'll do my best to answer questions, discuss problems and help you.

You can find more information (and the other folks' hours) in the postmarketOS Wiki: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Office_hours

Looking forward to chatting with you :)

I'm sick of these soulless AI generated images. People used to use stock photos if they wanted images for the sake of having an image. This is gone, now I just get bombarded with an unholy average of many great art styles, hands with six fingers, and all of that for the low low price of the world rapidly going to shit because hardware manufactures and AI companies are in an unholy circlejerk inflating the economy of the US.

Pete Hegseth is urging members of the military to embrace GenAI.mil, a "secure generative AI platform for every member of the Department of War." I'm sure this will be fine.

"I expect every member of the Department to log in, learn it, and incorporate it into your workflows immediately. AI should be in your battle rhythm every single day. It should be your teammate. By mastering this tool, we will outpace our adversaries. The power is now in your hands."

I wonder who came up with their logo, which looks like a worm invading the Pentagon.

Still a lot work to do, but for the first time, we got completely integrated CI testing of kernels running... on a phone! For what I know, this is a first for a non-multi-million-euro-company in the FOSS world!! Can't be more proud of it and all the people that helped during this journey.

https://gitlab.postmarketos.org/postmarketOS/pmaports/-/jobs/1465886 is a bit cryptic, and might look like any other gitlab CI job, but is actually booting on a OP6T at @mupuf farm!!

There's still a long road ahead, but in the future we might be able to automate kernel upgrades with a lot less manual testing, and continue working the "reliability" goal we presented in https://postmarketos.org/blog/2025/03/30/pmOS-year-priorities/

Huge thanks to @mupuf for all his work and dedication on ci-tron, to @cas for the initial dream and work all across the stack, to @fizzo and @corna, for the PCB that drives the phone, and to @fun, @adrianyyy, and @cas again for the work on Tauchgang. Truly team work :)

More details in some weeks in a blog post near you ;)

-ci
