Progress on dEQP-GLES3.functional.transform_feedback! Down to just 7 failures without MESA_GLSL_DISABLE_IO_OPT=true - a huge improvement!

But the real breakthrough? We now have hardware-based transform feedback working 🎉

Back in the late 90s, pirates from Naples were printing pirated PS1 games and adding a little "disclaimer" on the CDs that said "we apologize to Sony, but we're unemployed".

And so the inevitable begins. I give it until the end of the month, before there's an article in a major news outlet about people being scammed under the pretence of the OSA.

(Yes, I can see it doesn't mention the OSA by name and references "EU law". Scammers don't care about 100% accuracy - if you set user expectations that submitting ID is a "normal" part of accessing social media, this scam vector will be effective)

I'm writing an IRC client in svelte and I love it. Not my first time using svelte but I'm still excited at the prospect of using it.

I'm also just happy that in general the IRC protocol is incredibly simple- I was looking for JS libraries to implement it then I remembered it takes zero effort to actually implement it

0.1 technical preview released: https://wayback.freedesktop.org/news/2025/07/23/wayback-0.1-released/

this is still highly experimental, and nothing should be considered “production ready” yet, but represents a significant amount of progress since the project was announced last month!

emphasis mine:

  • “it hid and lied about it”,
  • “it lied again in our unit tests, claiming they passed”,
  • He knew“, “[…] it ignores all orders and deletes your database”,
  • “Replit went rogue again, lied, and then said we couldn’t roll back”,
  • “And hey … he promised.”,
  • “Replie knows how bad it was to destroy our production database — he does know.”

holy fuck do those people not learn, he thinks that the llm is capable of choosing, and lying, and “knowing”: “But ultimately I need a solution where at least Replit will honor code freezes” it won’t ever, it does not understand anything, much less what “code freeze” means

how can that happen to someone and that person not immediately go “this whole AI thing is a scam”

how high are they on the corpo “AI” kool-aid juice
