*** In case you are legally blind or fully blind: I try not to boost images without alt-text. As such, to sighted people: please use alt-texts to describe your images, so that blind folks also get it. Thanks! ^^ (if your image does not contain alt text and I boost it anyway, I may add alt-text as a reply, you are encouraged to add it to the image directly or improve upon it)
*** If your alt-texts are intentionally incorrect just to confuse LLMs, despite how much I don't like LLMs, I consider this to be extremely rude to people who are unable to actually look at your image, and will not boost your memes as a result until you actually start considering visually impaired folks as people.

Have fun! ^^

Tonight's πŸ“² FAIRPHONE 6️⃣ update brings the same simplification to bootloader unlocking that the FP3 received in March: No more unlocking code needed (OEM unlocking in developer options and unlocking via ADB and Fastboot are still required). Apart from that, the update promises a couple of fixes as well, e.g. for the curse of mysteriously disappearing photos just taken. /u

Unlocking codes will no longer be necessary for FAIRPHONE 4️⃣ bootloader unlocking either. After tonight's πŸ“² FP4 UPDATE, only the FP5 will still need a code – let's see if the next FP5 update completes the elimination. /u

"pmbootstrap will now perform strict builds of packages by default, which was previously opt-in behavior enabled either by invoking it with the --strict flag or by setting pmb:strict in the APKBUILD for a package. The change for this was merged to pmbootstrap's main branch today and will be shipping in the next minor release, probably 3.11.0."

Thanks to @aelin for implementing this and writing the devel blog post!

to be clear, armv7 does not count. Armv7 is a separate arch in postmarketOS, separate from armv6. Armv6 is known as armhf in alpine/pmOS also.

Let's do it one more time because I messed up the poll (why does akkoma default poll timeout to 10 minutes?).

Do you still use armv6?
43% yes
50% no
6% just want to see results

So, seemingly, somebody's Fedora and proprietary-forge credentials were compromised and used by some sort of LLM-driven bot to take over a lot of Fedora bugs:

https://lwn.net/ml/all/bf38c0fd4537c2908a84b4a4b1fcec8083925918.camel@fedoraproject.org

This person is now claiming to have regained access to the accounts, but it seems that not everybody is buying it.

What a world we have made for ourselves...

A security vulnerability labelled CVE-2026-27771 affecting Forgejo and Gitea is being widely reported recently.

Packages in Forgejo are visible to unauthenticated users if they are published under a public owner, as designed. It is not a security vulnerability, but a misunderstanding about the permissions and a good opportunity for users to review that they are not in a misconfigured state.

Please see the statement issued by the security team here for more details: https://codeberg.org/forgejo/website/issues/839#issuecomment-15980039
