*** MDNI/18+ accounts also NOT TOLERATED!
*** In case you are legally blind or fully blind: I try not to boost images without alt-text. As such, to sighted people: please use alt-texts to describe your images, so that blind folks also get it. Thanks! ^^ (if your image does not contain alt text and I boost it anyway, I may add alt-text as a reply, you are encouraged to add it to the image directly or improve upon it)
*** If your alt-texts are intentionally incorrect just to confuse LLMs, despite how much I don't like LLMs, I consider this to be extremely rude to people who are unable to actually look at your image, and will not boost your memes as a result until you actually start considering visually impaired folks as people.

Have fun! ^^

@noisytoot and like, from his replies, it is very clear all he wants was attention and creating drama.

16:47 <f_> I guess one is no longer allowed to share drafts of ideas they have on the top of their head without someone else trolling and making all this a huge controversy for no reason

@craftyguy well they succeeded at it

@craftyguy either way it's just tiring. We should all be united and work towards bringing a *good* ecosystem to compete with the proprietary walled gardens. Yes, there will be disagreements on how to implement things, and yes that may lead to other implementations of the same thing down the road, doing things differently (which is not bad actually, as long as it's *healthy* competition, like e.g. what postmarketOS is to Mobian). But we won't be able to achieve a good, open free software ecosystem if trolls are constantly spreading FUD, constantly attacking people, constantly naming folks, basically trying to divide all of us.

And I also want to say: getting death threats in your email inbox each morning, as a free time open source maintainer, shouldn't become the new normal.

@craftyguy Either money or throwing specific people under the bus is their goal... or both

@noisytoot he's *only* a flathub maintainer, not actually a flatpak developer working on the v2 internals.

How do you securely chat in 2026? easy, you just wall each other on sakamoto, the most secure privacy-oriented and e2e encrypted chat platform available

ellyqw โ”‚ no doxxing ourselves on alpine irc though
@panekj โ”‚ we should use a secure communication
@panekj โ”‚ wall me on sakamoto
 ellyqw โ”‚ good idea

And before some people come screaming at me like I don't care about non-systemd use cases.

I run OpenRC on my main daily driver laptop.

excited to announce i'll be giving a talk at this year's @piwo about making ARM SoCs work in Linux! (that's *this saturday*, 30th May, at 4:05pm)

slides will be in english, but the talk will be in polish. i'll publish the slides after the talk if anyone else wants to take a look (and most likely there'll be a recording/livestream as well) :D

Gotta love when some excited developers share some ideas they have on their head, only for some unrelated troll to pretend to be a developer and troll people with extremely deceptive replies.

These excited developers, instead of getting constructive feedback and all, they get insults, deceptive feedback, attacks. All that because they wanted to share ideas they had on how to move forward (no code was yet written).

Sound familiar?

The original idea is fine especially if you read what flatpak devs are saying, but if you're just reading posts from some kubernetes shithead that has been screaming for the past day or 2 how gamers will "cure cancer", then you will only find doom

Introducing systemd-diskd: A new tool to manage your disks. It can create a systemd partition table and format your partitions using the systemd file system. It can also automatically bootstrap a systemd os install using systemd-repart and make the install bootable with systemd-boot. Upon booting this new os, you are greeted by systemd-greetd, a new login manager using systemd-userdb to show a list of users. After logging in to your user, you are met with the systemd desktop environment where you have access to the full suite of systemd graphical applications.

It's not normally a good idea to share internal security processes, but I did want to offer the funniest trivia in my work to fight spam - I just added gamepad support to my spam-fighting client, meaning I'm literally using a joystick and buttons to do the work.

Turns out, if you can consolidate part of your job to an Xbox controller, you can speed it up significantly.

Don't worry, Android 2 on the PinePhone isn't real, it can't hurt you.
