As such, to sighted people: please use alt-texts to describe your images, so that blind folks also get it. Thanks! ^^ (if your image does not contain alt text and I boost it anyway, I may add alt-text as a reply, you are encouraged to add it to the image directly or improve upon it)
*** If your alt-texts are intentionally incorrect just to confuse LLMs, despite how much I don't like LLMs, I consider this to be extremely rude to people who are unable to actually look at your image, and will not boost your memes as a result until you actually start considering visually impaired folks as people.

Have fun! ^^

Hi everyone! We are still fighting with an ongoing DDoS attack against our service on the network level. We do not yet have any ETA on recovery time, as we're still investigating different mitigation strategies.

As always, we are very grateful for your support and patience.

There's nothing controversial about E2EE.

Unless you think it's controversial for private conversations to be.... private?

I love the EU

 19:27 <@f_> https://xcancel.com/vonderleyen/status/2027756878575362119
19:27 <@f_> "Please respect office hours"
19:28 <[ REDACTED ]> look we need the EU to pass a law saying websites should only be accessible during business hours
19:28 <[ REDACTED ]> to combat, uh, internet addiction. yeah.
19:28 <[ REDACTED ]> and then we need the US to do the same.
 19:28 <[ REDACTED ]> and then Japan
 19:28 <@f_> great idea

@DenJohn Epiphany is GTK4+libadwaita so it's guaranteed that it will be completely unusable on this hardware, because it renders everything in software, and it's very inefficient at doing so especially with all the libadwaita eye candy.
Servo uses WebRender, same as firefox, so it will be very laggy as well.

Flow .. I'll give it a try, thanks!

also can anyone recommend a good lightweight web browser to use on an old armv7 tablet with max OpenGL ES 2.0 gpu? Preferably something packaged in Alpine (tablet runs pmOS)

How is KDE Plasma nowadays regarding being lightweight? Back ages ago I remember it being one of the heavy desktop environments, but it ran just fine on my 15 year old laptop (was ~10 years old during that time) alongside gnome which IIRC worked better under nouveau...

but now I see GNOME has gotten heavier (which wasn't unexpected), libadwaita apps are inefficient. How's KDE Plasma on that regard?

@ysb33rOrg @postmarketOS In a way it does, hardware-wise, but IMO software-wise it's a lot better, because all these userspace improvements that was made over the years, we basically get all of them for free :) sure, on a phone we still have work to do on the userspace, but we do get the modern software stack that already powers linux desktops

@darkdragon @dalias @unfinishedsymphony @postmarketOS gnome-calls is packaged in postmarketOS so no need to use the flathub version?

it shouldn't be very hard to do, the battery's existing bms could help here

@whitequark so, no DMing or tab-highlight (except on irssi), unless the person is logged in to the bridge.

@whitequark it's a hack, basically a bot can impersonate nicknames that way so things become "<user|bot> hi" instead of "<bot> <user> hi", but that "user|bot" isn't actually part of the channel

@whitequark the effect is pretty cool on plumbed rooms though, matrix users on the plumbed matrix room that are logged in to the bridge appear as regular IRC users on IRC
