i wanted to run @postmarketOS duranium on my fairphone 5 but it’s very easy to accidentally brick it and i successfully did brick it

does the firehose file to unbrick a fairphone 5 exist in the wild? it only boots into emergency download mode (edl) with usb id 9008 and there’s no way to use that mode without that firehose file which as far as i can tell only the fairphone repair center has and won’t give out (probably because qualcomm forced this)

maybe someone stumbled across it somewhere

@atna @postmarketOS sadly @fun had the same problem and had to ship their phone to get it fixed.
I don't know why Fairphone doesn't publish EDL loaders, Qualcomm definitely doesn't care (there are vendors such as Radxa or Lynx that ship their devices unfused *and* publish EDL loaders, as fusing is only required if you want to certify your device with google)

@atna @postmarketOS had the same when i bought it and tried to flash @LineageOS. only "fix" was to send it to the repair center

@elly @atna @postmarketOS yeah no there's no Firehose loader publicly available, you'll have to send your phone to the repair center.

Mine got bricked for an even dumber reason: upgrading android
