i did speak more English this week than in my entire time in school. and my English is really useless when i need to speak.

writing is fine but speaking is difficult and my brain isn’t able to pronounce stuff correctly and think at the same time about what i want to say. that might fix itself the same way i learned to write English but not while i am in Germany.

also while writing my brain defaults to English so i accidentally write stuff in English in chats where everyone writes in german but when i need to speak my brain defaults to german even when nobody around me understands german. maybe because my brain knows that it will fail anyway 2/3 of the time when i need to say something in English.

@ellis I'm the opposite but with russian instead of english (I can speak and understand it mostly fine but find reading and writing very difficult)
