does the reader have a non-24-hour sleep schedule? if so, is it usually longer than or shorter than 24 hours?
(boost to increase sample size)

@syn i was polyphasic for a bit, i tried out uberman and dymaxion (sleeping every 4 or 6 hours) but i just got so tired that i had to return to monophasic

@kemona_halftau yeah I’m not sure how long term viable those super extreme schedules are for most people

@kemona_halftau it probably tends towards being longer (it's easier to sleep later than it is to sleep earlier) but it's quite random

@kemona_halftau wait do you mean per sleep cycle do you wake up at a consistent time or before or after

@harlow i mean if you wake up at, say, 06:00 one morning, when you wake up a week later, is it before or after 06:00? (replace 06:00 with your usual wake time)

@kemona_halftau at this point i genuinely no idea
i thought it may be longer than 24 hours but trying to follow that doesn’t fully fix my sleep issues and i get times where i can’t sleep until 3-4 hours later than usual seemingly out of nowhere regardless of what schedule i try to keep, so the only conclusion i got from all that is “getting my 9-10 hours in is more important than waking up at around the same time to me”

@kemona_halftau I developed Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome™ at puberty, but the cycle is relatively stable in the absence of influences (which are many) with occasional periods of being longer than 24h, however many years later I discovered I'm highly photosensitive so if I have a strong daily light exposure and am relatively free of said influences, it's quite stable, even more so if I take timed microdose melatonin....
