And now for something completely different…
What is something you’ve done recently that you’re proud of?
I know proud can be a strong word for some of y’all, so alternatively, something you’ve done you’re happy with, or something you’re really excited about?
@maddy Definitely getting a full Gentoo desktop running in less than a single day. It was 2 hours from initial start of install to successful final install (not including the prior attempt on an improperly formatted drive which led to me needing to redo things since I didn’t have an EFI partition the first time ) and then tinkering with Niri until I had it feeling pretty good before moving back to a full DE because I just wanted something familiar again.
@maddy Got the list of "people important to me that I haven't come out to" down to 2 people. That meant having some awkward conversations with siblings who haven't seen me in a number of years. It didn't 'go well, but it's over, I survived, I will survive, and I'm proud of myself for getting it over with so I can start moving on.
@maddy I've spent too much of my life worrying about the feelings of other people who don't respect me or support me anyway.
@maddy not sure. I'm feeling quite stagnant lately.
This too shall pass.
@ra6bit I’m proud of you, too! That can be really tough!
@maddy "invented" a bunch of cool signal processing techniques based on vibes and by virtue of having no prior experience in the field, NDA for now tho...
@dimmfox Ooh, that does sound pretty cool!
@maddy it sounds cooler than it actually is, I just threw together a bunch of dis joined techniques at a specific problem that was traditionally solved a different way and it turned out to work quite well.
@maddy I'm happy about having had some more rest recently, and I'm excited about video games and furry art. There might be some happy posts from me when I'm ready to share.
@maddy finally closing the chapter of getting a driving license and beginning my move to switzerland :3
@maddy I got better at managing myself, my patience, my reactions, and my energy levels.
Not perfect, maybe not even where I'd really like to be come next year; markedly better.
