i need a little guy that
@kuriko Those USB ports all have to be on the same side? Dell/Wyse 3040s are pretty small, and they have four ports, but two are on the front, and two are on the back.
If you do go down this road, just be aware that there are two generations: one that takes 5Β V, and one that takes 12Β V. They're visually indistinguishable, so be sure to check the label if you get one without a power adapter (or even with, just in case the seller gets mixed up).
@kuriko Gravis did a Little Guys video on them, if you want to get a sense of size in situ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LADsGBvB_ns.
@kuriko does processing power matter? there are a few x86 SBCs that could fit the bill
@kuriko ex. 12c/16t mobile intel cpu 4.6ghz, 16 or 32 gb of ram, not particularly cheap though https://www.lattepanda.com/lattepanda-sigma
@MrDOS same side USB would be preferrable, i am currently looking at some optiplex 3050s that are of reasonable prices
// i also tried building a Dell Pro Micro Thin Client (for the IoT LTSC version of windows) but holy hell it's 600 pounds just for a shitbox
@jay0 this little guy will be used to drive printers and nothing but printers, so the CPU might as well be a crusoe
@kuriko i think some rock pi models are x86? might work with a cut down windows iot install
@kuriko Beelink has some options on aliexpress
@kuriko Something like this? https://www.centrecom.com.au/msi-cubi-nuc-1m-core-5-120u-barebone-mini-pc
